Home Grown Child Development supports children with sensory processing difficulties through targeted occupational therapy interventions designed to help them better manage everyday sensations and environments. Sensory processing challenges can affect how children respond to touch, sound, movement, and visual input, impacting their ability to concentrate, play, and participate in daily activities. At Home Grown Child Development, occupational therapists work with children using evidence-based strategies tailored to their individual needs. These may include activities such as using sensory swings or body socks to provide calming input, working with weighted equipment like lap pads or vests to improve focus and body awareness, and practising fine-motor activities that build confidence and coordination. The clinic also helps children develop coping strategies for overwhelming sensory situations and supports families in creating sensory-friendly routines at home. While funding arrangements vary, families may be eligible for NDIS support in 2025-26 to access occupational therapy services.
