Lifestart supports early childhood development by addressing foundational skills that help children engage with their environment and peers. Fine motor development—such as grasping, hand strength, and coordination—is essential for self-care tasks like dressing and eating, as well as play and learning. Lifestart's fine motor interventions might include threading activities, playdough manipulation, or scissor practice tailored to each child's stage. Sensory processing skills help children interpret and respond appropriately to sensory information from their surroundings, which supports focus, behaviour, and comfort. At Lifestart, sensory work may involve activities like controlled exposure to different textures, movement experiences on therapy equipment, or the use of weighted tools to help organise the nervous system. Early intervention during the preschool years can make a meaningful difference in a child's confidence and participation. Many families access support through NDIS funding (2025–26 pricing applies where eligible), though Lifestart's registration status should be confirmed directly with the clinic. An occupational therapist cannot diagnose conditions like autism or sensory processing disorder, but can identify developmental areas needing support and work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
